Nate is in the process of filming a documentary on Detroit's historic music store. Opened in 1956 by Dorothy and Emil Moro, Detroit Wayne Music Studio has always filled an educational niche in Detroit's community, giving students an opportunity to converse with the city's most revered Jazz artists.
We follow the store's current owner, Richard Pioch, and his fight to continue the legacy of this treasured brick-and-mortar shop. Addiction, heartbreak, and an increasingly digital world threaten the livelihood Richard has worked to protect. Through it all, he subsists upon a simple philosophy to share the gift of music with as many people as possible.
This is the story of Detroit's beloved music store, and a man we call,
The Empath.
